Algodones Mayas, S.A.
A Guatemalan company dedicated to the preservation of our ecology that produces natural colored cottons from wild species originally from Guatemala. We proudly grow our cottons in a sustainable and ecologically manner. The natural color cotton is used to produce superior quality casual wear for the international markets. We weave together threads from fibers of differently hued cottons to achieve a surprising range of tonalities in our garments without using dyes of any kind.
The colors of our garments does not fade with washing but actually deepen with each washing. The texture of the hand woven garments acquire after some time and washing is soft yet natural and iffer from that of garments woven from industrially produced. In some of or our textiles we still use the ancient weaving techniques of the Maya, backstrap loom, giving and exclusive touch to the garments.
We are also proud to work with small artisans throughout Guatemala to produce their community desings and maintain an excellent quality.

The natural colored cottons are the original colors of that the Maya Civilization used for their textiles. The textiles are woven using tha backstrap loom traditional technique and the knitted garments are done industrially. We are trying to recover the tradition of hand-spun yarn as it was done centuries ago. Through this technique we are ccurrently weaving household products as well as women and men exclusive garments.
